Airbags for towing
Lowered my 71 C-20 a few years ago, took out the overload leafs, and had the stock springs re-arched. Now I have this wild idea that I want to tow my drag car and enclosed trailer with the 71. But.. I need airbags to pick the ass end up when I put 10k lbs on it. Anybody know of a kit or am I piecing it together myself? Truck has a Dana 60 in the rear.

Re: Airbags for towing
Do a search for Firestone air bag kits.
Lots of kits out there. Here’s one of many. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fip-2404 |

Re: Airbags for towing
It looks like most kits are for coil over applications.
I might buy this setup and see if I can make it work https://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index...SABEgKrTvD_BwE

Re: Airbags for towing
Ridetech & Airlift both offer an Air-over-Leaf set-up for assisting a leaf spring set-up. There are 'under' frame set-ups as well as 'side' frame set-ups.

Re: Airbags for towing
I’ve got air lifts under my DD 2018 Sierra HD. This truck has had them since new; now at 115,000. I run them at about 65lbs constantly (service bed) and they have held up great. No real issues at all. Get the 2-300 dollar compressor kit, I’ve run them with just the schrader valves in the past, that setup will work but is very much not ideal.
