Re: Lowering truck info
Here is my 67 with a 2-1/2' and 4" drop and list:
Drop spindles New standard height springs New standard length shocks 4" progressive drop springs rear New drop shocks in rear Shock relocation kit Adjustable track arm For a 4" drop a frame notch is not really required. Above about 5" yes.

Re: Lowering truck info
My 68 has 2 1/2" drop spindles and -1" springs. Stock KYB monomax front shocks.
Out back it has -4" HD rear springs & 1" blocks, adjustable track bar, trimmed bump stops, cpp shock relocation brackets, stock kyb shocks. No C notch and it will still haul a full dress Harley. It actually rides nicer with a bit of a load in the back, that's probably due to the heavy duty rear springs.

Re: Lowering truck info
On my '72 stepside, I went with 2.5" drop spindles with OEM springs and 3" springs in the rear. All of these are the stock shocks (for now) After seeing some with the extra 1" drop spring up front, I'm still considering adding it, but it rides pretty sweet right now.
