my 70 k10 is steering dangerously

So... the front driveshaft spins slowly even when in 2 high. never goes away- not 'residual'. when the front is in the air and truck is in neutral i can lock the front right tire by engaging the spicer. cannot lock the tire on driver side when engaging spicer in same conditions. The steering pulls to the right often out of nowhere- like a 'ghost'. the ball joints seem good, and the leaf springs are good/ attached. Frame is good/ solid. Any ideas?

Check the axle joints- I had this happen before when the axle joint seized off center slightly and as the axle slowly idles while driving it would get to the point where it would suddenly pull to the truck to the right. It could also be the spindle bearing since you can lock the wheel when the lockout hub is locked. Either way- sounds like the hub and spindle are coming apart.

I would tear that side down and inspect everything really close. There’s a few things it could be but you won’t know for sure till it’s torn down. For spicer hub parts, your best bet is to become a subscribing member and post a want to buy thread on the parts board. I’d check the hub bearings and spindle bearing pretty close.
