Re: Rims with 35's

The only thing I've found available is the Wheel Vintiques 82 series and the US Wheels 659 series. Both of them seem to be only available in black, if you can find them at all. I know I've seen at least one member post pics of them that they had painted white, and they looked just like that picture.

I really want to be able to put hubcaps on my '68 K10 that has later model K20 axles, and I think both of those have the little bumps for the 12" hubcaps. I'm probably going to have a local place powdercoat some WV 82's white for me.

Do those have vent holes or are they lacking the same as Wheel Vintiques? Doesn't look like they have them. Must be made by the same people overseas. For some strange reason these wheels were not made with them. Really bugs me. Why not? They did the 5 and 6 lug wheels correctly. My buddy calls the 8-luggers skid loader wheels. They should come in red or yellow

Re: Rims with 35's

I'm still looking for some 15x8 steelies and can't get a solid answer on where to get them aftermarket that will fit. I've been told that the US wheels won't fit a 72 K10 without a spacer? Any help or guidance would be aweoms.e

Sorry - MDFarms - not trying to hijack.

17x8 steel wheel with clip style hub cap. I had 17.5" center put into 17" dot approved steel ring.

Whodunnit?

James, Jason sent 16" GM truck wheels to a place in CO where they used the centers to build 9 x 17s. I imagine he had a good investment into all that shipping. Were these done in Maryland?

No, they sure don’t Tim. I don’t know why either, but the hubcaps cover most of the center anyway. They used to bug me as well, reminded me of some of the old Co-op 16.5 wheels that didn’t have the windows either. I was able to get my US wheels cheaper and faster than everyone waiting on the Wheel Vintiques. That was pre-COVID though.

The shop is in PA, close enough that I was able to drive to, no shipping involved, just a nice drive.

It doesn't bug me that much. Just seems they missed the boat on that. Makes me wonder. I bought my Wheel Vintiques from Jegs when they were out of stock, 5 or more years ago. They did a really smart thing and put them on sale for us smart guys willing to wait. I bet they had the whole shipment pre-sold. Their retail was $125@ and they had them knocked back to $85@, $500 retail vs $340 on sale. Got me a free wheel, and then some, out of that deal!

Not that old guy who sells widened wheels at Carlisle out of his travel trailer, is it? Probably not. He was purely focused on car wheels. He told me he used the 15 x 8 trucks wheels as hoop donors for muscle car wheels. No class, I tell ya

I'll have to get that information from you. I have a cherry set of '68 8-lugger caps I'd like to build wide wheels for. I'd also like to do a set of custom wide Budds for a K3500 flatbed project
