Odd request to someone with clearance lamps :)

Hello!

I've got an interesting request here -- I wanna reinstall my clearance lamps on the truck, but to do that I need to fix the rot holes up on top, which includes filling in the holes where my clearance lamps screw on... I was wondering if one of you fine men or women would be willing to take their lamps off, take a peice of paper, spread it across the truck, cutting it to the shape of the cab top then outlining and punching holes in the paper where the clearance lamps are suppost to go? I don't want to guess with it and make it look weird... I would appreciate it if someone would do this for me, and mail it off to me

Here is a picture of the clearance lamp style my truck has, its an 1980 Sierra Classic 3/4 ton:

Hmmmmm... My option sheet doesn't mention them either... I guess I have to call Ray (first owner, fathers cousin) and find out if he installed them...

it already looks funny with them on there .. You should look into getting a replacement skin, for the top of the cab, or just replace the entire cab.. body rot is a nasty nasty thing. A body shop should be able to get you that top half of the cab.. Do you have any rot below the windshield? what about the support pillars? Thats where my truck is rusted out and Im not going to bother fixing it (it is fixable though) Im just going to get a new cab...

Just 6 - 7 penny - quarter sized holes that are easily fixed, the rest of the cab is rock solid with no rot at all, its probally one of the most solid cabs that I've ever seen on an unrestored truck up here...

Hey Russell, those are most likely dealer add on lights, or auto parts store lights. If the p/o was an older gentleman, they are most likely from the parts store (they like to buy and attach their own....why? i do not know). This is what a factory light should look like...but this is on my truck, I am not quite sure on the differences between roof mounts on '69-'72 & '73 up models. Hope this helps.

Hmm... The original owner is my father's cousin, I still haven't been able to get a hold of him. I guess I could take the truck to the dealership where it was bought and ask them about it
