Hydro boost

Hey guys just me whining again. I had to forget about the cluster repair for now to rebuild my Hydroboost. I need to find a way to identify which one I have on my 97 3500. I cant seem to find markings to look for. My problem is I got a rebuild kit and separated the unit. Now in doing so it might or might not have a Check relief ball in it? I have been searching the net for two days and have found that there are three different variations. One with and a tiny little rod, one without the rod or ball and one with a big spring? Would any of you fine mechanics know how to ID this thing? It would be a $250-350 mistake on my part. Now When I took it apart I tried to keep an eye on it and didnt see anything fall out but Im an old army guy whose eyes are not that sharp anymore.
Thanks
