I have a 1972 K10. I understand that 1/2 ton caps are smaller (10” or 10.5”?) than 3/4 ton (12”).

Am I correct that all K20 3/4 ton wheels are 8 lug?

I am looking at getting the rare 6 lug 15x8 steelies and want to make sure I’m getting the right caps.

My confusion is that there appear to be two style 1/2 ton caps.

I have the flatter ones on the bottom.

The bottom caps are 76-80’s. The top caps are 73-75 and also 69-72 if you paint the bow tie blue. Both sets are 1/2 ton caps and will fit your 15x8 steelies. If you have a 4wd, you need front caps that have the center punched out to fit over the locking hubs. The closed center caps will fit on the rear.

Yes, 3/4 ton wheels are 8 lug.

And hub cap prices are currently crazy out of site. Shop around you can still find nice caps for a better price.

Already got some decent ones like the bottom ones. Just wanted make sure they would fit the 15x8 6 lug steelies. I guess the 12” caps really are only for the 8 lug 3/4 ton K20s.

Yep. There are two sizes of hubcaps. Those for 8 lug ( 3/4t and 1t) and those for 5 and 6 lug (1/2t 2wd and 4wd, as well as cars)
