Best black paint brand/shade console paint?

I know post is old and maybe you already found some paint but I used SEM Paint on my console going from brown to white and still looks great after 4 years. Bought mine from Walkers in saskatoon but should be a Regina vendor too. https://www.semproducts.com

Was that painted to match parchment interior? If so, is the paint color Super White? I believe that's the recommended SEM match for parchment. Also curious if you used the adhesion promoter first. Looks great.

Yes, paint is Super White and and was used to match my parchment interior. Didn't use anything other than had the brown blasted off and cleaned the console thoroughly before painting. Also took the console completely apart for blasting/ painting. I also painted the inside white as with my 70 year old eyes its easier to find stuff in there.

FWIW I used the SEM primer then color coat on the interior pieces I did (another car) and the final results were excellent

IIRC the "directions" on the color can said use their primer first

Thats cause they sell the Primer too. Mine is holding up pretty good without it.

Great info. Will get me some of that! Did you glass/media blast or soda blast the plastic?

I used "the parts place" interior paint/dye. Went that route over SEM as they didnt have a blue to match my interior. I did use Krylon white primer under the blue to get it a shade brighter.

I used a SEM bumper stripper spray. It worked really well at cutting any old paint off and not damaging the original grain of the console.

The blast prep noted, and cleaning first allows the finish paint to adhere better

Or you can use the SEM primer which makes the color coat adhere better

Clean the item well before either, or both, procedures before applying color coat, It's all in the prep

I went from brown trim to grey.
