Dash pad and carpet color?

What color is a dash pad and carpeting when you have a parchment interior? Does a pad and carpet color always match such as black pad black carpet or tan pad tan carpet?

My 71 Cheyenne is parchment interior with sandalwood dash and AC vents. carpet isn’t original so I can’t say there.

my 72 Cheyenne super, has parchment visors, headliner, door panels, and arm rest, and the seat was parchment and black houndstooth design...the dash pad,carpet and steering column are black, as well as the top of the dash frame between the pad and windshield.there may be other combinations, that's just the way mine was built

A super with parchment always gets a black dash pad and carpet. A Cheyenne with parchment gets a sandalwood dash pad and carpet. and from what I have seen a Cheyenne with a tilt still gets a sandalwood dash pad and carpet

It is a non tilt truck, built in baltimore...and is paint code, 458 white& red orange, this post makes me curious about others

I personally wasn't asking about Supers specifically, just generally how the pads and carpet would be. Looks like matching colors, what color depending on the color of the truck. I know about all tilts being black. I didn't know about the upper vent and radio grill part of the dash being black.

I wonder if the black upper dash frame, between the dash pad and windshield could be a Cheyenne, or super treatment, I have noticed over the years, all of the other trucks I have owned , were painted bodycolor in that area, this one still retains all of its original interior paint, dash pad, and trim

Same goes for my Cheyenne Super. This is the only pic I have at the moment, but it is black non-tilt column and black dash between windshield and dash pad.

In my case, the truck has black carpet and a black dash pad.

I had in mind that the upper dash area was always painted the same color as the dash pad.

Here’s my completely original 71 Cheyenne with a factory ordered tilt. Parchment interior, sandalwood painted dash top and dash pad. Sandalwood carpet. This is a Janesville built truck. Janesville also painted all A/C vents black.

I went through the same color combination thoughts.
First I was thinking black carpet. Then some people with better sense of color thought brown. That's what I went with. Sorry no good pictures but I am posting what I have for examples. I did the door panels in the same color as the parchment sun visors. Special ordered a dash pad in parchment. I ordered the powder coating as seen on the door panels. I wanted to do the steering column in the same color, parchment, but I had all ready finished it in a black powder coat and there is no way it was coming apart again.

Their was no way I was going to stay with the stock colors of my truck. Yellow with a green interior. Someone may have liked it but that person doesn't own the truck now.

I wonder why some dash tops were body color and some were black or the color of the dash pad? Is it another plant specific gene.

i recommend a little rust converter on the bottom of that door to stop that from growing

I have never seen a factory dash top that was body color. It should be a flat painted color of the dash pad. Now it seems most people that restore a truck always paint the dash top body color.

that's a good point, after 50 years a lot of these trucks have seen at least one repaint,i had a 67, that I owned years ago that had seen at least 3 different color changes, my 72 super is by far the most original survivor I have owned, and we go back almost 30 years together, and I was friends with the original owner, all the way back to 79, and he never did anything but drive and service it... I will never forget that magic day he finally sold it to me...there sure is some sharp interiors in this post!!
