Question What to do now ??

This all happen with the PO. Use to be a 3 speed with a 350 motor, Its a 72 C10. PO made it a automatic. How am I going to hook up or make up a neutral safety with the no wires ?? I guess I could Break the connection between the starter & the Ignition switch ?? Or is there a simpler way ??

The purple 12 gauge wire that runs from the ignition switch to the firewall bulkhead connector needs to pass through the Neutral safety switch. You could pop the wire out of the bulkhead connector and plug it into the Neutral safety switch. You could then get some more 12 gauge wire and a couple of Packard 56 crimp terminals and make a short wire to run from the other terminal on the Neutral safety switch to the bulkhead. You need to use the two NSS terminals that are parallel and close together. I believe this is the correct connector housing.

This should be the reverse light connector housing in case you want to tackle that issue as well. I believe you would pop the light and dark green wires out of the bulkhead, pop them into this housing, and plug it into the NSS.

You didn't specify how the PO made it an automatic. If it has a column shift automatic and the column has a NSS on it then the info pj sent is correct. If it is a floor shift or if the column is not set up for NSS then you can go aftermarket like lokar. Either way (even with a standard trans) the purple wire has a break in it.

The PO Put in a column shift Which I replaced with a column shift From 70Shortfleet from this forum. Very professional rebuilt column I must say. Thanks to PJ Moreland for this info and pictures.
