66 throttle cable questions
I have put a pedal from a later model truck in my 66 and was looking for a throttle cable for it...heard the 72 4x4 is the shortest one. I only have 6.5" from my firewall to the carb bracket where the cable connects...It look like you can not get this cable at a local autoparts store anymore...always comes up as not available...does anyone have apart number for a throttle cable that is like the 72 4x4 cable?

Re: 66 throttle cable questions
There are two types of connections at the carb - one is an eyelet and the other a "socket and clip" arrangement. Here is a link to ATP that shows accelerator cables by length and end type: https://atpautomotive.com/all?subcategory=707 It also depends on the bracket you are using and the position of your engine in the frame. Best bet would be to measure end to end of where inner cable attaches to carb and pedal, and find a cable close in length. You can shorten the cable outer shielding by prying off the plastic end that mounts to bracket and cutting a piece out. Fine tuning can be done by bending the pedal arm.
