mount above wiper motor?

Was is the mount above the wiper motor for? This is a 1964 GMC C1000

Has someone bent the bracket downward?
I always thought that would be a good place to undermount a pair of tweeters.

makes sense for speaker, looks bent down thats why it looked out of place. Thanks

I had a 1961 Studebaker Hawk where I mounted dual 3.5" speakers in the front and rear speaker grills. I just cut a piece of plexiglass the size of the original speaker and drilled two holes for the speakers then drilled the factory mounting holes in the plexiglass.

It looks like you can buy setups like this already to install.
