When dealing with old car and truck parts, it usually means New Old Stock.

new old stock

after a car goes out of production they still make replacement parts for it. when they quit makign those parts, the parts left over are new old stock. theyre new parts but they are old stock. i think is what you are asking for. people buy and sell nos parts for mucho money because they are brand new original parts...

Be carefull when buying "NOS" parts. Some people think that even though it is a used part, but original, it is NOS. I see tons of them on ebay. So called NOS parts and then you see the pics and it's a used whatever. NOS parts usually have the part number stickers on them, or are in the original packaging. You will find some that have no packaging or stickers, those are the ones to what out for. If you can't verify it's NOS then assume it's not. Might be a very clean original, but not the same as NOS.

NOS also has a few levels...you need to look at shelf wear, it could be as bad as a used part in all reality.
NOS can also mean Neat Old Sh!t.
