Made some progress this weekend on my '50

I didn't realize how much work was involved in frame swapping one of these. But now the results look good so far IMO..

looking good!
best get the hood on there, its one of the hard things to get fitting right and there may be somefiddling with mounts yet to come. there are some threads on here dedicated to fitting the hood, you could pm martinsr as he is an old school bodyman who owns an AD and has experience with these. he may direct you to one of his how to threads on hood adjustment

Hood and wiring is next. I had the PCM and fusebox mounted above the tunnel but ended up sliding the engine back another 2"...had to cut the tunnel area bigger. Passenger side head on the LS is <3/8" from firewall.

probably joedoh could lecture you on hood fitment with a frame swap, while he is sleeping. he has done so many frame swaps the trucks just give up and swap themselves now, haha.

on one tf I simply dimpled the firewall with a large ball pein, esthetically not bad actually. I held the ball pein on the spot and hit that with a dead blow hammer, a big one. that way it was a controlled hit. check what fits on the back side first though, just in case.
