? Was there ever a desert fox type van?
I know the desert foxes were GMC and this is a chevy

I guess not a Desert Fox, but the Desert Foxes just give us an example of the styling used in the late-70s. The blended color graphics were very popular. It's also the era when the conversion vehicle industry kicked in. Heck, even Chevy put out trucks with stripe graphics on trucks in that era in response to the current trend.
I really like that van. Done more with adventure in mind than luxury cruise to the golf course (or whatever plush conversion vans were intended for. Chevy made the Nomad Vans. They had just the side door and opposite opening windows, hi-back plaid seats/nice up front, rallyes, trim, and luggage rack. The cargo area was untouched like a work van. They were an empty canvas to make into a camper. I guess the luggage rack was an option and they did come with the second seat, carpeted only that far back
