Stock 1967 C15 Hubs ect

Hi All!
I am looking into wheels and tires for my 67 C15. Its a 2wd Longbed.
It has 6 Bolt hubs, which I assume is a 6x5.5 pattern.
My question is when looking at wheels, lots of places ask for a minimum hub size. Does anyone know what the answer to this would be? or how is it measured? Im pretty new to most of this.
Thanks!

Re: Stock 1967 C15 Hubs ect

Welcome aboard!
They are asking for the diameter of your hubs. Wheels are centered on the axle or hub two ways. Hub-centric and Lug-centric.

Hub-centric uses the machined step on the axles to center the wheel by having the wheel center bore slightly larger than the step on the axle or hub.

Lug-centric uses the wheel mounting lug nuts to center the wheel.
Hub-centric is the preferred method of centering the wheel.

If the center bore on the wheel is smaller than the hub or step the wheel cannot be mounted on the vehicle correctly. That is why the retailer wants to know your hub size.

In the first photo the white lines indicate the diameter of the axle step you need to measure. (Distance of the double ended arrow) You can measure the largest part of the hub at the base of the hub on the front wheel to get the same number.
The 2nd photo shows how the step fits inside of the wheel bore of a Hub-centric wheel.

The front and rear wheel hubs should be the same diameter. You can also measure the wheel bore diameter if you have factory wheels to get the number you need.

There is a lot of information on the interweb about this.

Have fun shopping for new wheels and be sure to post your new ones for all to see.
