Horn Issue

I have a 67 c20 with the ididit non tilt column in it.. I put a dual note LOUD horn in it to scare off anyone i deem a problem.. Couple crazy looks but so far still healthy ..

problem is when i turn and the turn signal goes into cancel the horn sometimes sticks on and i have to run out an unplug them.. What could cause that, seems ok when normally driving without the turn signal..
any ideas?

The horn works by grounding the lead. You probably have a bare spot on the wire or a place where it is getting pinched.

Hard to diagnose beyond that. Fairly common problem. You will have to pull the steering wheel.

I installed a reproduction turn signal switch in my truck a while back that shorted out the horn contact on the column causing the horn to be on constantly. I had to trim down the clip that holds the contact spring in place. Maybe yours only shorts out sometimes if the turn signal switch shifts to a slightly different position. The first photo below shows the difference in shape of the clip for reproduction vs. original. The second photo shows the clip touching the column upper bearing housing.

Trying to see what you trimmed down in your pics, was it the right side area there in the picture?
i have the wheel off, i may have to take it further apart.. I believe its in the upper column ther

It wasn't fun. Then the vendor told me it was a common issue, and they usually trimmed that piece, but mine had slipped through somehow without getting trimmed.
