Rally wheel screws - what I learned

I bought some nice rally wheels, however the owner had just used a regular hex head - no flange bolt and it did not look good, so I started to investigate what is the right "screw" or "bolt". I'm posting this information so others may use it, correct me and/or add what they've found out. Although rally's are not a 67-72 option, it seems more people have them on their trucks than the 73 + crowd so I'm putting this information here.

Refer to the pics below.

Top left in each pic is the GM PN 14003421 which I have in hand and next to that is McMaster-Carr PN 90166A121 (Stainless Steel) that I bought. Underneath those pics is a post from forum member “teeitup” : "OR WTB - Rally center cap screws" showing that the screws came as both slotted and unslotted - which was a surprise to me. The last pic is the specifications from McMaster-Carr. I would use the GM screws except I only have 5 NOS. So after all the research I ended up buying the McMaster-Carr SS ones because, I like them better than the slotted, they won't rust / mar up easily and are ALMOST a perfect match.

OEM specs:
5/8” (10/16”) flanged head
9/32” (18/64”) head height

Stainless Steel specs:
11/16” flanged head
21/64” head height

If you like the slotted head, here's one that I found that was another almost perfect match: https://www.albanycountyfasteners.co...p/6000-012.htm

Re: Rally wheel screws - what I learned

Thanks. Great tip. I'll have to look into getting some of those SS bolts
