283 rocker covers get a facelift

I was given a pair of 283/327 Corvette rocker covers. One had a huge hole cut in it by some dumby-head.
I had a guy TIG weld the hole shut and add weld so I could re-form the script to say Corvette again. Turned out good IMO.
I still wasn’t sure I would like them better than the original 283 CHEVROLET script covers.
I decided to polish the Corvette covers and paint a black background between the fins. I then removed the paint at the top edge of the fins and top surface of the script. I LIKE IT!
Last pic shows both polished but still need to paint one. Paint makes a big difference.
Feels good to turn junk into something nice!
