Might be able to sell it for $10-20, but that's about it. I had to give mine away when I pulled it. Couldn't get anyone to take it for $10. It's really hard to ship so it has to be picked up. That really limits your potential buyers. Good luck, maybe someone is looking for a bench seat. I see some WTB posts about it once in a while.

Make sure you look inside the spring to foam area for a build sheet !!!!!!!!! You don't want to throw away an important document that may be there. It will authenticate your truck and any optional equipment on it.

Seats are funny, you can't even give them away but if you ever need one you won't be able to find one anywhere.

Ok. Sorry to hijack the thread. But.
If I'm doing a restoration on a truck, and my bench springs / foam is shot, can the springs be fixed / replaced?
Or is it best to just find a better seat?
I wouldnt think I could even find a good (like new) seat that is 30 years old?

Darren

Darren, I was able to find an upholstery shop that was able to fix my broken spring. They did a great job for a great price. I have noticed that LMC sells some of the springs...but not the one that was broken on my seat.

Look towards the future

If you have the room to save it and nothing is wrong with the springs, save it.

There are a lot of poorly thought out seat swaps out there and my crystal ball says the trend in the future will be near-stock restorations not customizations, as the supply of available trucks drys up.

I see this trend already in many new members posts, though it may not take hold this year or even this decade. I know in your area the supply may be plentiful, but in many areas it's rare to see any vehicle of this vintage.

I realize you may not be able to store it and it's value today is probably $50 max, but at least you asked the question rather than short-sightedly tossing it.

John, if I have one more of those gas tanks I'd have to build another garage to start storing them. If any of you guys needs a nice clean gas tank, come and get it, free! (sorry, all out of seats)

I agree gas tanks are a dime a dozen simply because they don't rot from the outside in (condensation is another story). Yet another benefit of the in cab gas tank design.

$20-$50 depending on condition of Bezel and gauges. I always got at least $25 for them.

I got two gas tanks for FREE too if anyone wants them ... LOL.

The really annoying part is I can't even take them to the local scrap metal buyer because he won't take fuel tanks ... not even FOR FREE.

What's a guy to do?

Some ideas

But since you have 2, weld one to each door. If orientated correctly, and with enough speed, they'll provide enough lift to get airborne. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!
