LED light question
Hello. On my phone searching and it won't let me look up any topics.
But I'm having issues with one of the grounded led flashers. The one for the hazards is working correctly but the blinker one will not work. It does work slowly with a regular flasher though. Ant thoughts? Wiring in the column? |

Re: LED light question
If the flashers are the same, try reversing them. That will show if you have a bad one.

Re: LED light question
Leds require solid state flasher to blink.
original flasher will not work with Leds. |

Re: LED light question
The grounded LED flasher that I have is made by United Pacific and came with an add on part that would reverse the polarity going into the flasher. I needed to use it on my truck, the signals were acting like you describe before I put it on.

Re: LED light question
I know what part you are talking about. I actually did not get them with mine. Was wondering if that was the issue as I was looking them up last night.
Thanks though for letting me know you were having that issue , I at least have a direction to go now. |

Re: LED light question
I actually have a regular flasher in it now and it's just blinking extremely slow so I slightly works but not correctly. Looking like I may need a flasher reverse puck to put between it and the fuse block.

Re: LED light question
I put LED's on my 40 coupe and Otis (Avatar) and bought the LED Compatible Flasher. Never could get them to work, bought these and like magic they worked, just splice one wire into your Led ground side, and the other side to stop/turn and you are good to go.

Re: LED light question
working extremely slow, is Not working correctly you need a solid state flasher.
Here is how orginal type flasher works, the current from the lite bulbs is sufficient to heat the bi-metalic metal tab, enough to make it curl and break the circuit, then it cools and closes from being open. and continues to repeat this cycle. The amount of current draw determines how fast it cycles/Flashes. Leds no Not draw enough current to make the old tech flasher work properly. good Luck. Re: LED light question
I put LED turn signals on my truck and had issues as well, two of them. First the turn signals were not grounded well. That was fixed and then I used this LED signal relay, CEC Industries EF32SS-R Flasher, for both my hazard lights and turn signals. My fuse block has two separate relays for signals and hazard lights. After using this relay and fixing the ground issue, they have worked fine.
