Double trouble
Hi Guys, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. My father and I are currently in the process of building 2 short steps. Since I spend so much time on here lurking I figured it'd only be decent to introduce myself.
I'm Allan from upstate SC, spent most of my life playing in the machine shop or tinkering with trucks, jeeps, and motorcycles. My Dad has owned a 67 short step for years but never really dedicated the time to building it. Always loved that truck, but ole Dad would never let me buy it. I recently acquired a 70 short step and have started building an old 400 SBC I had laying around into a hot little street machine. Seeing my drive to get the 70 road worthy has seemed to light a fire under my Dads arse to get the 67 built. I don't have any pics on this computer to post but will throw some up from my phone but the builds are as follows. Dads 67- 6.0 L96 recently acquired with 4,000Mi! going to mate it with a 4L80E, already has upper and lower tubular control arms, 4-wheel disc, 3/5" drop, 18/20 show wheels etc. Currently repairing sheet metal and collecting parts for the LS swap. My 70 - Is a retired homebrew drag truck that I picked up without a drive train. Already had a freshly machined 400 SBC block sitting in the garage so it seemed like the thing to do Anywho, Just thought I'd say Hello PS Please bare with me as I haven't been on forums in a long while and will surely make some posting boo-boo's Last edited by chipmaker 1985; 05-30-2022 at 11:54 AM. Re: Double trouble
Thanks Guys!
Just starting to really read up on the ls swaps. Dad was planning on running the 350 already in the 67 but came across a super deal on the 6.0 and had to have it. I will definitely be getting familiar with the LS swap section. Trying to post pics hopefully it works |
