replacing door glass - remove vent or not?

So I screwed up and didn't replace my door glass on the driver's side when I restored my truck. Also, my rear channel is broken, so I have to replace that as well, so two birds with one stone....

I've read a bunch of threads, looked at the videos, and all signs point to removing the vent window to remove the glass, which I did when I initially took things apart. However, I don't really want to mess with it. It was tight getting back in after replacing all the rubber, truck is freshly painted.

Anyone had an easy time removing the glass without removing the vent window?

There’s no easy way to do that. It’s best to take the the vent window out. You’ll have a bigger fight on your hands if you don’t. Just tape up the door, that will help with not getting scratches. I did the tape and took my time, and didn’t have any problems.

Remove the vent window. It is easy and will save you a lot more cussing.
