Issues with 15x7 Torq Thrust 2 on a 1966 C10
I have a 1966 C10 with disc brakes. I just bought 15x7 Torq Thrust 2 wheels and they hit the hub before seated all the way on the rotor. I had 15x7 truck ralleys on it before with 4" back spacing. These new wheels are 3 3/4.
How are you guys running these wheels? Using spacers? I hate to do that since that will move them out even further. Is there a rotor with less hub size? It appears I'm hitting hub, and not the end of the dust cap. Thank you Tom |

I took backspace measurements first, then ordered the wheels with the backspace I needed.

Mine appear to work. I’m using AC Delco rotors for an 87 r-10. Luckily upside down pictures make no difference in this post.

Take proper measurements before buying a wheel - call them what you will...

Pictures always help with questions and problems like what you are encountering. Look at the pic Rocknrod provided. On both diagrams I'm thinking the part labeled "C" is where you are having an issue. If that's the case spacers might be your easiest option as long as it leaves you with enough stud length sticking through those thick aluminum wheels

I have machined either the wheel and/or the hub centers to make them fit.
Depending on where the most metal is. The hub requires a much smaller lathe, so I typically start with the hub. Much of the time it only requires a small amount for material to make it fit. Take both the wheels and hubs to the machine shop if you go that route. Cheers. |
