Fi Tech efi tank
Has anyone out there ran this tank? I have the Fi Tech efi and was going to run the Force fuel with the stock tank but now thinking about relocating tank to the rear. https://fitechefi.com/product/58148g...ruck-bed-fill/

If you do not mind a fill location in the bed at the point the tank has. I do not see a problem. Bed fill not an option for me.

Richard I don't disagree with you about the bed fill. It is not my first choice by far. I am building my truck to drive across country if I want. So gas slopping around behind the seat for hours at a time is not appealing or is a cut in the side of the bed with a fill door. I will probably use a dummy fill for looks and add speakers and storage behind the seats.

I have the Fi Tech already and the force fuel system. Built a mild 383 broke the cam in and ran on the dyno with it. Had no issues with it so far. turned a little over 400 hp and 460 torque. I did a lot of research before I bought and got a lot of positive feedback on them. Sorry you got a lemon. I guess no one has ran the tank set up?

I know from a "look at what i got" perspective that set-up looks cool, but why not just return back to factory tank and save that cash for the gas bill? I put the sniper on my stroker motor and plumbed in the return line to existing sending unit and works just fine.

That was my original plan. But the force fuel set-up is pretty big to fit under the hood. I want to keep it fairly clean and simple. Do you have the pump in the tank or a in line pump? |

Rick, I bought there master kit, which came with an inline fuel pump, which I mounted on the inside of the frame rail on the passenger side. At idle I can hear it, but who really spends a lot of time idling when you got power.

Just as an option because you mentioned it; I used the force fuel mini (50006). It fits snugly under the batter tray so there is nothing visible from a normal view of the engine.

I also am using the stock tank with EFI (holley sniper), with an inline fuel pump that comes with the EFI kit. A Holley Hydramat was added, but it's not required.

geunther The mini wasn't available when I bought the Force fuel. That looks like the ticket for the stock tank. Always worried about fuel pump overheating when mounted outside. Anyway the cab is not painted yet, soon I hope so i ordered the tank kit. I will have room for storage and speakers.

I will be running a sniper with a fuel command center pump but I don’t have it installed yet. Here is a pic of where it will be mounted, and I also ran a return through the stock sender with the stock tank.

Old post but had to reply. I've had a Fitech on my 72 GMC since 2016 and have been to San Diego, and AZ to spend the winter there with the truck. AZ is 2500 miles one way and SD is even further. That was 2017 and 2019. 2018 we took it to FL for the winter (shorter drive at 1400 miles) and last month again to FL for a month(that was 4300 in 3 1/2 weeks). We've gone east for 2 weeks last summer(2300 miles) and may do it again. Same 400hp Fitech. Add in all the regular driving plus the driving while down south and we are over 50,000 miles. This is on a 5.3 with a carb manifold. Way better mpg than the original 350 and I run 3:73 gears. Even the original paint is holding up.

Good to know about your Fi Tech. I am making some progress on my truck. Painter still has the cab but I about have the chassis ready when I get it. The Tanks tank is installed along with the pump and plumbing. I am a believer that if you skimp on certain things you are going to have problems sooner than later. That is why I opted for the pump in the tank. All automobile manufactures. put the pump in the tank for a reason. Not the cheapest way to go but I believe the best. Here is a picture of where I am at.
