Did I make a wrong choice in trans cooler ?
I put in a new rad and decided to get rid of the old ugly one for a bolt on Hayden , but it looks small once I got it on. It looked thicker in the picture. Says is for mid size van.which I did not see until the box came. I don,t tow anything , truck just runs around a small town ,hardly ever on he hiway .Truck is a 78 chev short box stock 350/350. Cooler is not connected to the rad. The old one worked fine for years. What do you think. Here is a pic of old one and new one.https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hda-676

That looks better than the old one. You should be fine with that. Is it a street truck?

You should flip it though, the way it is now it’s upside down, could be a big pocket of air in it and not doing much cooling at all, turned the other way oil will settle to the bottom and the air pocket will migrate out, just saying.

It is a great choice for a cooler. This style is way more efficient than the old tube and fin style. You will be happy.
