Front Spring Hangers... Any Help?

So I broke a front leaf spring (custom alcan spring) When I pulled it off, I notice the front factory leaf mount is wallowed out a bit and wore down... Not sure if the PO had wrong sized bolt??? But now that I am into the project I would not mind upgrading the hangers.

I am aware of the B52 set up, I dont have the factory bumper but dont do not want to spend $550 to just fix the front hanger...

Any other options?

Of course this is for my my K5...

I would bet Diy 4x4 would sell just the front hangers if you are interested. Off road design has some but only for square bodies. Posting a wtb in the parts section is another route if you do not want to repair yours.

Post 122 is how I fixed the same problem on mine. You likely don’t NEED hangers, but to a point I can understand wanting to upgrade. What are your overall plans for your truck if you don’t mind me asking?

I have it pretty much built how I want. It is a 72 Blazer, with EFI 350, 4 speed. 4.56 gears front and rear with Detroit locker. Custom Front and rear bumpers, 36" Swampers etc. I like the lift and the way it sits now etc. The PO had done the lift etc. When I contacted alcan spring to replace my broken leaf, they say the measurements are really funk. I have a factory length front spring (22" to 22") but it has a bunch of lift built in... Alot of arch for such a short spring... So I am trying to figure out if there is a better option...

Do you recall what size the washer was for repair? I swear my front bolts are 9/16 but the spring builder swears they should be 5/8 and 9/16 is an odd bolt size etc.

What about just replacing with a factory hanger. 9/16 is not an odd size for these trucks or any chevy truck for that matter

Price? Do you have both sides available? As for the bolt I thought that was different. Maybe he was mixed up?

Re: Front Spring Hangers... Any Help?

Mine are 9/16 bolts for sure. I just picked up the thickest 9/16th washer I could find.
