New Old Guy or Old New Guy
Greetings from Trout Creek, MT! I have been watching this forum for more than a year now. I had some trouble joining initially, but all is well now. I am a retired automotive mechanic who used to be with the National Park Service. I "inherited" a project 1959 Chevy Short stepside from my brother. It went to his son first, but he had too many other projects and the truck was here and not in San Diego. So, he offered it to me last year. My brother passed away in November 2019. It will be the hardest project I've ever taken on and I am keeping him in mind while I do it. I will post some pictures as I go along. I'm 69 now, so I have no idea if I will finish it or not. I am looking forward to driving it some day!

Re: New Old Guy or Old New Guy
Yes. I should start a build thread. Even if it stretches out over a long period. I took some pictures yesterday of the truck and what I did.

Re: New Old Guy or Old New Guy
Welcome!
The beauty of build threads is you can document what you do to the truck over the years. My build thread is several years old at this point

Re: New Old Guy or Old New Guy
Thanks! I will be asking others for their opinions on a couple of issues I need to address. Other than the usual rust, missing parts and such.

Re: New Old Guy or Old New Guy
Thank you. I want to see if I can't get this truck back on the road and enjoy driving it like he did.
