Check Rock Auto for part number 57052 . It appears they still sell a reman A6 compressor.

Re: WTB NEW A6 Air Compressor

He's wanting NOS because any reman is junk...replacement parts quality socks.
I've put 3 lifetime warranty A4s on my 87 V10 and yet to get a good one

Re: WTB NEW A6 Air Compressor

Any new A6 compressor you find is going to be like 40 years old with 40 year old seals. Sanden compressors are lighter and put less drag on motor. If you are going for originality then I understand but finding a good A6 compressor new or reman is a tall order
good luck

Re: WTB NEW A6 Air Compressor

Use the upgraded version. It fits the factory brackets and is sooooo much better than an A6 boat anchor. I used one and recharged with R12 in my factory system. Has worked flawlessly for years now.

Re: WTB NEW A6 Air Compressor

Truckin 79,

What is the correct Sanden part number, model to use???
I have a 72 GMC Jimmy with the 5.7 L/350 engine and want to use a Sanden one.

All other fellow Forum colleagues. I agree with Truckin 79. I am HUGE on using OEM parts. I minimize using aftermarket parts to the absolute minimum.

The exception is rubber parts or parts assemblies using critical rubber components including compressors. Over a long period of time rubber dries out. For my complete rubber parts I will use aftermarket parts from Precision.
I am a retired mechanical engineer( but also a hands on gearhead who put himself through school by working). Not a know it all. Respect everyones opinions.
