Lower front fender bolt Help
My lower front fender bolts and captive nut seem very worn, they do not grab at all. I replaced bolt with new one, it now threads in, but doesn't grab at full tightening. I'd like to be able to cinch down on the lower bolt. Any suggestions short of replacing the captive nut? The new bolt made a difference but I think the lower nut is worn too? Is drilling and tapping to a larger size the only alternative?

Re: Lower front fender bolt Help
Light bulb just turned on, what if I just fit another nut behind the bad nut through the hole. I can use some needle nose pliers to hold in place while I cinch down. It wont be fixed, but it should allow me to tighten.

Re: Lower front fender bolt Help
Good idea, as to whether or not it's truly fixed depends on ones age. If I can say, " Well, that should last the rest of my life,".... then I figure it's fixed.

Re: Lower front fender bolt Help
Does a NF bolt go in this local? Something seems off to me.
