Nice '66 ebay find
Not mine, but a super clean '66 which appears to have one repaint. This is what 5 decades+ of pride of owner ship looks like. https://www.ebay.com/itm/30463148103...Bk9SR7ii65rqYA

Re: Nice '66 ebay find
Too bad about the repaint. Makes you wonder how bad the original paint could've possibly been considering how the rest of the truck looks. Dig that Gem Top!

Re: Nice '66 ebay find
Probably had some sun burn on hood and top edges, pre photos at the paint shop would be nice to put some at ease. Thought it had chrome trim rings on wheels, looked closer, it has the heavy duty muti piece wheel option. Maybe the lock ring was chromed? Wonder if it has the newer full synchro 3 speed overdrive which was introduced on some models in '66.

Re: Nice '66 ebay find
Thanks for posting this. What a beautiful truck, a pleasure to see. I really don't think there are many of these left. I have a 66 custom camper in similar condition, not quite as nice though IMHO.
It is always tempting to do all the creature comfort upgrades, but for those who own trucks like these, and resist the urge for preservation's sake, have my respect. I always hope there will be original examples like these for decades to come. Glad that the reserve wasn't met, I think it is worth more than the highest bid. |
