Question '42' stamped on my dash... what is it

I noticed the number 42 stamped on the bottom of my dash, under the heater controls. I was just curious to what this number meant. Thanks all

it could be from the assembly line, or it could be from a p/o that went crazy with a stamping tool. who knows.

On the assembly line the parts were numbered for thier assembly order. The dash was the 42nd part to go on.

Ha, yours is a different number?! I would think that they are the same number if it was the 42 or 34 part to be added
Ah well, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, just got me wondering.

Guys... guys... guys... the number is there so that you can identify the part as you're assembling the truck. When you open the box, you should have several plastic "trees" with parts loosely attached, an instruction booklet, and some decals. The number corresponds to the part number in the instruction book.

When it comes time to install the dash, carefully remove part number 42 from the plastic tree with a sharp knife such as an X-acto knife or razor blade. Carefully sand the areas as necessary, apply a tiny drop of glue, and install the part as shown.
