Air Conditioning hole templates
Hello, I was wondering if anyone out there has the templates for cutting the dash holes for the air conditioning vents ? The two side ones and the upper center one. Truck is getting ready to get a paint job and I think this would be the best time to do any cutting. I plan on using factory style vents.
Thank you in advance ! Dan I have a 71 |

Re: Air Conditioning hole templates
The factory vents are large and one has very little room to make any mistakes.
That said more than a few have done a wonderful job of replicating the factory holes. That said I used the Vintage Air vents. They are smaller and I had no difficulty drilling the holes with a hole saw. What I don't know is if the vent hoses are the same diameter? Maybe some one will chime in? Cheers |

Re: Air Conditioning hole templates
Aftermarket is smaller, if you have factory style vents I believe they have adapters to connect the larger size. Restrictive air flow in the case and hoses is one of the reasons I have avoided aftermarket systems for my truck. I used some templates from a kicked off member to put factory A/C vents in my truck. Seemed like a decent guy, quite a few deals with him. Pm me and I will give you his number.

Re: Air Conditioning hole templates
I had just repaired my 67 non A/C dash and was a little concered about cutting big holes in it , I found a set of vents on the board and removed the inner plastic so I could use them as a perfect pattern and not have to worry about removing too much metal or having any gaps . I used a cutoff wheel to rough out the opening and then a flap wheel to fine tune it , Worked great .

Re: Air Conditioning hole templates
I'm thinking now that I should just go with an aftermarket vent kit ? I want to get the vents in before paint but won't be adding air right away. Just think it's smarter to do cutting now.
Does anyone make a nice three piece vent kit that can be purchased separately from a whole kit ? One that hopefully has templates and instructions ? Any ideas or recomendations ? Appreciate the help |

Re: Air Conditioning hole templates
You can buy all the vents separetly from Classic parts / carandtruckshop/ most parts dealers have them . I don't think they include patterns or directions
