What color (the time is coming for paint)
The time is coming around for a new paint job. I still have factory paint but it is all oxidized and has some surface rust. Right now it is a two-tone. It is apple red and frost white in the middle (I know the names because it has the options sticker) I was thinking candy apple red with the same frost white in the middle put with pearl white flames on the candy apple red. Also another cool choice I saw was on a 88-98 chevy but it had like a charcoal grey on the top and a silver on the bottom and they split on the upper part just about 3 inches below the top of the bed and the top of the front fender and it had a pinstripe to divide it all the way around the truck. I don't know if you all can picture it. I want some feedback and if anyone has any pictures please show me. Thanks. |

If you go to the photoshop forum (click the work photoshop at the top of this page...) and post a pic of your truck, the guys there can give you different color combinations so you can see what it looks like.
It is funny that you guys like blue. Mine is blue (look at the pics on the site in my signature line), and I don't like it. I want mine white, like Swervin's, but most people don't like that. Slonaker |

I'm glad to hear blue's getting some love! I'm painting the Blazer 2000 Corvette Nassau (Medium) blue.
But I, like Silverado, am scratching my head on a combo color for the blue. White in the center panel seems to want to be a little more radical or updated. Have been considering cream or pearlized cream of sorts. Silverado, there is also a thread called 'pics' on most of these forums. You can get many ideas from these threads.

the charcoal gray im talkin about is chevy's onyx gray that they use on the 01 silverado's and a few other vehicles. I just wish you all could see it the way im talking about. and i was thinking also the candy apple red with pearl white in the middle. i also drew up my own tribal design i want on the right side of the hood regardless of the color i choose. i dont have a scanner to show u all but i drew it myself and i like it.

Its just my opinion, but I think if you are going to do two tone, just do like
RED WHITE not RED WHITE RED I think it would definately be a mistake, unless you like the bone stock look.

Dont ever tell any one what color your going to paint any vehicle unless you want everyone to have one just like it.Happened alot when I worked at Super Shops somebuddy would say they were going to paint a car certain color and someone wold come in with that color.

On a similar note, back in 96 when I was finishing up my first resto on Yeller, I decided to paint it yellow since there were no yellow trucks (and very few cars) running around with that color. Sure enough, about two months after mine is all painted up and finished...Dodge comes out with the yellow Dakotas. BOOM, yellow trucks everywhere. I am not saying I started the trend, but it sucks that I wasn't such the "oddball" anymore.
