Two Tone without chrome trim

Has anyone ever two toned their 81-87 pickup without the chrome body trim? I have an 84 Sierra 2500, base model all white, and was thinking of doing a two tone but using a contrast color as the separation between the colors. I'm not sure what 2 colors yet but just trying to get ideas.
Thanks

Would it have been a wide version of pinstriping? About the width of the chrome trim?

Re: Two Tone without chrome trim

The ZY5 two-tone pattern used a chrome strip at the lower color split, but did not use chrome at the upper split, as far as I know.

This is a google image of a common late-model color pattern. I don't care for the blue two-tones much.

Re: Two Tone without chrome trim

most two tone trucks have the chrome on the bottom like pictured above ive seen several with just tape but those were repaints. my two tone was that same darker colored blue, and below the chrome line was silver. I also had the chrome panel on the roof that separated the grey up top from the body color... please note mine was a repaint also

Re: Two Tone without chrome trim

this was another two tone i dragged in and someone removed the chrome for the most part on it.. the piece that wraps around the back of the truck has a drilled hole to affix a fastener to the side of the truck for that chrome

Re: Two Tone without chrome trim

The 81-88 trucks had color stripes instead of chrome strips at the top of the mid-body color. This is the factory paint on my 86

Re: Two Tone without chrome trim

I just saw this pic posted on a facebook group, and I thought of your question. Various creative paint jobs has been done on the one-ton trucks particularly, and you can draw inspiration from them. This is not factory paint, but does have the correct 1980's-era vibe.
