Rear brake size on a 3/4 ton 2wd
My 84 Sierra 2500 rear brake shoes are 2.5" wide. Would that make them an 11X2? I asked on another forum with a picture of the rear shoe, and they said 13X3, so I ordered front brake hoses for that size. I messed up during ordering and got one for a 11X2 and one for a 13X3, and the only hose that fit in the caliper was the one for the 11X2.
My SPID says: C6P Heavy Duty Chassis-FRO GQ1 Rear Axle-Standard Thanks for your help |

Re: Rear brake size on a 3/4 ton 2wd
Do you still have the spid inside the glove box? It will tell you which JB brakes you have. BTW there is no 13x3 they had 13x2.5 (3/4 ton),or 13x3.5 ( which was 1 ton) How much of the drum fills up the rims in the back. If you can get your hand between the drum and rim, you probably have the 11s. If the rim looks stuffed with drum you'll have the 13s

I can get 4 fingers between the drum and rim, but only to the middle knuckle, so Im guessing they are the 13X2.5. I cant post pics of my drums here but they fill up the rim. My SPID doesn’t mention anything about brakes unfortunately

Yeah, that's a 13. 11'' drums are visibly smaller than that

Page 7 of this document shows that you have 13x2.5" rear drums on your 1984 c6p c20 truck. https://www.gm.com/content/dam/compa...olet-Truck.pdf

The only thing that I would add is, for '84 C6P C20 the brake RPO is JB7, which is nice to know. K
