I've been eyeballin her for years sittin alone out there by the old red barn. The old farmer passed away and the old widow got tired of climbing up into her and decided to let the old blue grain truck go. Yep, she came from an old lady, original owner. She's a 1971 C/50 with 61K original miles on the clock. She's got the factory 4-bolt 350 with a 4-speed split axle (two-speed) and a dump bed. The interior is fantastic with the factory AM radio that actually works! She drives straight down the road, heater blows you out of the cab, has the drive shaft E-brake and the working PTO and controls. All the lights including the cab lights work! I couldn't leave her alone, I brought her home to pasture with the rest of the old Chevy livestock...Wifey just shook her head...

A great survivor. I'd keep it that way. Looks good with the low sides. Looks like they had to change out the original blue steering wheel. Those never seem to survive.

When I was in high school I worked on a farm. Drove one just like that. Same color. We hauled 200 bushels of corn with it. We thought we were doing something. Now everyone has semi trailers. I do miss those days.

Nice save! Its amazing how many of these are still around in the dakotas and montana and i bet are still being used in harvest time.

I know of two trucks with grain bodies this size still in use on local farms. I hope I can end up with a 67-72 medium duty before I'm done.

Those are still in use on farms around here, probably most of the ones built and sold in Alberta are still on the road. Not in that kind of condition, though: beautiful truck, great find.

I am curious about the driveshaft brake set up... my 68 C20 has that and I am looking for a working handle for it. Do you think yours is stock, it looks kinda different?

There are still some of the single axle trucks in use around this area. That’s what we call a truck. Looks like a nice one. I have a 74 International myself.

On a C/40-C/60 that parking brake will be stock. The C/30s with 11,000# axle option also had that type of parking brake. Those are the trucks with same lug pattern as this C/50, same HO110 rear. I've never seen other C/10-C/30s have that from the factory.

Yes, it's the original. They may have varied depending on where they originated...

Special K...can you identify the steering wheel on this truck? I have one, but this is the only other one I've found. Most of the ones you see is a 3 spoke. I'm looking for the correct horn button and grommet but have had difficulty identifying mine. I took it off a 67-72 medium duty in a local salvage yard about 10 years ago and have misplaced the button. Thanks in advance bud

You see these old grain haulers for sale all the time around here. They are usually pretty low mileage and have sat in winter storage most of their lives. There are a few general contractors or roofing contractors that run them too. It's great to see them preserved and in use.

I think that 2-spoke steering wheel is a 60-66. Your truck would have had the 3-spoke just like the 67/68 10-30 wheel but a bit bigger diameter, yet a bit smaller than the 69-72s
