Stepside gas filler neck info needed
I've started the search for a gas filler tube for my 77 stepside and have no idea as to wat they look like. Can someone post up a picture of one, and are the side specific? Thanks!

Re: Stepside gas filler neck info needed
Is the cap on the driver side or passenger?

Re: Stepside gas filler neck info needed
Here are a few pictures that may help. Before restoring the fuel tank which is on the Passenger side. Some pictures of the original fuel inlet hose and a reproduction hose WHICH DID NOT FIT. No one makes a hose that will fit the 77 Chevy Shortbed Stepside. Your original better be is good shape to use. Hope this helps. Larry

Re: Stepside gas filler neck info needed
Not sure about a 77 but my Dads 76 has a neck and a small hose. At the time I replaced the tank no hose was available, LMC was the 1st I saw with a repo which I bought I sure others now have them. 76 the tank is on the passenger side. I can get a picture when I am at my parents house

Re: Stepside gas filler neck info needed
If you put a search on the board you will find a "in depth" discussion on
this subject. I'll go from memory now> The position for the inlet for fuel for stepsides changed from year to year; thus the length/turns on the inlet hose are not the same and will not work for ALL stepsides. IIRC the 77 and 78 where the same so the hoses are unique for those years. No one AFAIK(Could have changed) makes one. The one I bought shown in the picture comes out 2" short and will not work but may work for other years. BTW: If you think you could just get a "universal" radiator hose and use it is a bad idea. Radiator hoses where designed to carry water/anti-freeze and not fuel. If used for fuel it COULD brake the rubber off in small pieces and go to the fuel tank then the carburetor which is not good. Re: Stepside gas filler neck info needed
I found a hose that closely represented what I needed and had to cut and twist it to get it to fit, not sure what I used, a pipe and hose clamps
