Speedometer Is Squealing
I put a new cable on my 89 Jimmy and now it squeals. It does not do it all the time and it has a beat to it and not constant. Sounds like a dry bushing or it could be the end of the cable. If you put your hand on the lens, you can feel the vibrations. I am going to look at it this weekend and thought I would ask about lubes and lube locations. Dos and donts etc.
Thanks.

Re: Speedometer Is Squealing
Pull the cable out of the sheath and lube it up for starters

Re: Speedometer Is Squealing
I disconnected the cable at the speedo end and stuck the end upright through the brake line coils at the MCyl.
Lubed it with Macs, drove it, lubed it, drove it and hooked it up. No noise while disconnected but still had the same noise when connected. Removed the speedo and lubed it with the Macs, let it sit upright for a while and installed it. No noise so far. I am going to leave the lens and backlight reflector off this week to make sure it is still quiet.
