2½+ year search..finally 1969 C30
Used to be on here 20 yrsish ago when I lived in Salem OR area.. Had dropped off a squarebody bed for someone on forum.. to a farm in western Iowa..north(20 miles) of I-80, ..on a trip to MI.
Been researching and viewing WikiD61s listings as well as CL west coast chevys. After looking for 2+ years finally settled on a 1969 C30 133" wb..to convert to 4wd. A picture of it is on Wiki61Ds page 463 11551 # Facebook finds. 1st one I looked at was a kinda famous one...google... CC Capsule: 1972 Chevrolet C30 Longhorn Custom Camper – Very Aptly Named Indeed (as really wanted a Longhorn.) excellent! craftsmanship on the woodworking and sheetmetal..I passed on it. I will have questions with the conversion in near future...though I've read up on it. Love the simplicity and body style of this era. Had owned a 72 and 69? GMC 2wds 30 yrs ago..used for work..now I have one to DD sometime in the future. |
