60-66 Blazers
I saw this shop in AZ turning 60-66 Suburbans into Blazers and thought it was pretty interesting. I think they look fantastic even though lifted/slammed trucks are not really my thing but I would love to see someone with a factory stock appearing build.

Correct, but look at the body as it's been shortened significantly.

Yikes. Looks like a ton of work for a very odd, asymmetric look. Factory short beds already look a bit too short for my liking, this is much along the same line.
Hats off to the guy though, that is a ton of metal work. |

Wondering what wheel base. Standard is 115 like shortbed. Looks proportionally wrong.

1st generation Blazers had a 104" wheelbase, I'd say it's fairly close to that if not a bit longer. Compared to potential peers at the time (Scout 100" WB / Bronco 92" WB / CJ5 81" WB) it would have been considered one of the bigger sport utilities.
I agree, the metalwork involved is considerable and would be quite the investment. Even so, I love the styling of our 1st Gens and bet this is still more cost effective than obtaining a 1st Gen Bronco and you'd look cooler too. |
