Dern Cold Weather

4 degrees on the bank thermometer tonight around 7PM... and my truck stuck in the parking lot at work. Guess the brakes on my rear drivers side wheel is frozen. I had driven home from school and had made it home. Parked it for about 15 minutes and it gave me a bit of trouble. Then at work I could back up but not go forward. Its supposed to start warming up more over the week with tomorrow the low point. Its bad when it gets colder throughout the days. Just think last summer all the days we had over 100s in a row and a couple of nights that we never dropped below 100. Thats Missouri... gotta love this place. Its my home.
Hopefully thats all it is is frozen brakes. A couple from work took me home and they had fun sliding down the gravel road and back out.

Needless to say it doesn't get that cold in California, but the ground might shake a little every now and then.

It's pretty sad when you open the freezer and you realize that it actually feels warm!

Here at Logan, UT it is -4*F according to the airport! Sucks, I'm just glad that my choke works good, Chevy fires right up.
But the cold sure does suck. We have about 2' of snow on the ground, luckily no more is supposed to be here really for the next few days.

Went to school yesterday. Then went back to the store after school and my truck was there safe with no windows broken out or anything. Was able to pull on the cable enough until it came loose finally. Be sure and not set my brakes until it warms back up. Supposed to be 51 Saturday and it was around 60 last Friday... it got down to -2 one night this week already. Crazy weather. So the truck only had about 20 hours downtime. This cold is not good for anything I don't think, especially on vehicles. Nothing works as good as normal.

Ahhh yes Hooter. Cheating on the 1 part water 1 part anti-freeze mixture are ya. In that kinda weather you're gonna need pure untainted anti-freeze and a more reliable truck. Not the no-frills kind, AHEM FORD. Sorry, did I say that.

how the hell can you stand to sit on the crapper seat? Last month I went to the mountains and it got -2 or so and when I sat on the crapper I jumped right back up as the seat was as cold as it was outside....LOL seriously.

Ahh, isn't Missouri's weather fun Nick

It was also 4 degrees here too yesterday morning, and 7 this morning. The heater in our well house went out and the pipes froze up this morning....luckily none burst. We got them thawed out pretty quick by sticking a Colmen lantren in there and letting it warm the place up

My Chevy always roars to life easily in this weather, thanks for a well working electric choke, but the heat is another thing. I usually freeze in the darn thing....the heat works fine when the temp is in the forties, but anywhere below freezing and it sucks.

So i usually drive around wearing gloves and a northren style rabbit fur hat. I look kinda funky but who cares

I'll take the cold over the heat of the south any day. When it gets colder you can just put on another layer. What the heck can you do when it gets warmer?

Hey Dubie, why didn't you keep that weather over there. We are getting the cold weather now.

I was in one city a couple nights ago and it was gonna get around -30, but I couldn't plug the car in cause the hood latch was frozen. I managed to get it unfrozen yesterday got the plug out and drove maybe 5 minutes and it froze again.

So I was able to plug it in last night and they are saying with wind it is hitting -40 to -50 C ( -40F to -58F ). And I have a nice 3 hour drive to go to get home and it is in the middle of nowhere. I even pass a sign saying no gas for about 100kms, so hope I don't break down.
