Nv4500 swap
Who all is running an nv4500 in their 67-72 k5/k10/k20/k30? Can you share pictures, details of your swap & mods that you did? There is definitely more than 1 way to make this happen.
I’ve posted a couple questions in other parts of the forum but this section seems to have the most people so I thought I’d open up the conversation here. There is a ton of information through the forum about this swap but I think it would be helpful to all that are doing the swap or considering the swap to have as much info in 1 spot. |

Don't know if you saw my thread on the NV4500 installation in my C30 or not. Mines not a 4x4 but the transmission to bell housing fitment would be the same. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=673588 LockDoc

I am gathering the parts to put an nv4500/np241 in my 70 k5. Should be able to mock everything up once the 32 spline input shaft for the 241 comes in. I think all that will be left is to figure out my crossmember. Last edited by Tomo; 02-21-2023 at 09:50 AM. |

It is still working great and I use it a lot. I just used the bell housing cross member mount I don't have a rear transmission cross member. Normally, three engine/transmission mounting points is not recommended, at least on the 2wd. I don't know about the 4x4's, but I would think a stock cross member would work if you need one. LockDoc
