Hydro boost brakes
Anyone put hydro boost brakes on a 1967 c10? I ordered a kit from First Place Auto parts who gets it from
Right Stuff Auto parts. I ordered the kit just after Thanksgiving and still waiting on the parts. I just ordered the booster and a hose kit. Simple right not so still waiting. Maybe I should try to get my money back and get a kit from someone else. St |

I moved your thread to the '67-'72 pickup forum. I am in the process of installing one on my '70 Chevy project. I got my hydroboost unit from a 2001 Chevy 3500 van and I am basically making up my own lines. The power steering lines are from the 2003 2500 pickup and I am using the brake lines from the '70. I pulled the proportioning valve from a 1988 Chevy pickup. How is your truck set up as far as brakes? LockDoc

Re: Hydro boost brakes
This might not be exactly in line with the original question but what advantage is there to hydro boost?

Re: Hydro boost brakes
Hydroboost develops 2 to 3 times more pressure to the brakes. The power assist comes from the power steering pump instead of vacuum. This can be useful with engines that do not develop good vacuum.

Re: Hydro boost brakes
I used a hydra boost kit on my 66 Mustang. I got the kit from Paul at Hyrda Tech. Not cheap but worked very well. They would put your nose up against the windshield. I was running a built 302 with very little vacuum.
