Speedometer cable clamps attach points.
My speedometer cable has 2 clamps on it, where do these clamps attach to the frame or inner fender? Anyone have some photos of where the attach?

Re: Speedometer cable clamps attach points.
My truck has a single clip located on the very front end of the cab floor support rail. Sorry for the poor quality photo.

Re: Speedometer cable clamps attach points.
The speedometer cable’s end with the smallest cap inserts into the cab and takes a rubber firewall grommet. The cap screws onto the speedometer in the instrument panel.
• The cable must be lubricated, which is lubricated with graphite for this rebuild. • One cable retainer mounts to LH cab rail’s top front with a (GR 5) 1/2" hex bolt, hex nut and split washer. The bolt threads are 5/16-18 x 7/8”, and the head is stamped “RCS”. The retainer faces 10 o’clock with its spike placed into the cab rail’s inner hole. The retainer is stamped "3/8" and "4". • One cable retainer mounts to the RH frame rail’s top using the first hole located in front of the shift control bracket. The retainer mounts with the same hardware described above. This retainer was unmarked. • The cable’s large cap screws onto the transmission’s LH side a pinch more than finger tight.

Re: Speedometer cable clamps attach points.
I'm guessing there are variations from year to year. The cab rail clip on my truck is snapped into a hole (no bolt)

Re: Speedometer cable clamps attach points.
Here's a slightly better photo of the clip on my truck. I have a speed sensor cable attached to my speedometer cable for my torque converter clutch lockup controller. There is a nice photo of the clip in this thread:

Re: Speedometer cable clamps attach points.
Word is at least some of the clips were blue. Inline Tube sells them in clear or blue. I think the stamps e.g. 3/8" designate the retention diameter.
