Attention truck historians and Spirit of '76 fans
From time to time, someone will post something on this message board about GMC "Spirit of '76" edition trucks...
...well, looky what I found! Here is the Chevrolet equivalent! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2452408970 I am not sure if the seller's commentary about 500 units of production is accurate, and I don't know if his statement is pertainent to both the Chev and GMC versions or only to Chevy, but regardless, this eBay truck is a very uncommon example! I would love to own it! Incidentally, notice that this "Spirit of '76" Chevrolet is also a Bonanza model. This is totally consistent with GMC's practice of bundling it's "Spirit" package with the Royal Sierra package (which was GMC's equivalent of the Chevy Bonanza option grouping). Brian76GMC, ElGracho, bigblock73, and Captkaos...I hope your watching! Ken Lewis |

Hmmm Chevy really didn't do many theme trucks like GMC.
I sure would like to see the RPO sheet on some of those. That appearence package should be listed.

Cool. I emailed the thread to Brian too (he has one of the GMC versions of this truck). It's amazing what pops up from time to time on ebay.
In the last two years I've seen a Street Coupe, Gentleman Jim, a Beau James, three Indy Haulers (two 80's and a 77), a Chevy Sport and now a Spirit of 76. Thanks Ken!

I saw a Gentleman Jim yesterday. It drove past me as I was walking to the parking lot after work. It looked like a clean daily driver, with a kinked hood...

Ken, that is a sweet truck. I wonder why he didn't post a pic of the options sheet in the glovebox. I would have liked to see that. Still, a VERY nice example!
