grill question

Does anyone know if the part numbers are stamped on nos inner and outer grills for the 69-70 Chevy grills? I seem to recall the inners do but don't remember where at.

Thanks

Re: grill question

I hate being grilled with questions!

I do believe all GM grilles have a PN stamped, IIRC, to one side on the top area that the hood hides, when closed

Re: grill question

All GM plastic has a part number or mold number in the mold that makes a relief number when a part is molded. I have a NOS inner and outer in my 69 that were bought 15 or more years ago. I have close out panels on top so I can't see the back of the inner to see where the numbers are. The outer doesn't have a number stamped on it. I only put it on about a year ago and I looked for a label on the back when I took it out of the box but there was none. I have one photo of the top of the grille I took the night I attached the brackets and installed it and there is no number on the top of it anywhere. I also have a NOS 71/72 outer grille bought from the local Chevy dealer at the same time. I looked at it last night and there is no number on it either.

Brings back memories from 1989 or 1990 when I bought an outer grille for my 69. Got it for around $140 from my local Chevy dealer. Of course, that's when they still carried most of the OEM parts I needed. I'd even got the "jobber" price, which was around 25%-50% discount, depending on the part.

Re: grill question

An NOS inner grille does not have a part number on it, nor does the outer grille. My outer had a sticker on it though
