Need help interpreting this GM information kit
This shows the interior colors that are recommended for each exterior color combo. The document does specify that the customer can special order any available interior color.
The chart shows hashed boxes and 'x' boxes on the chart. Which one denotes recommended? I had assumed the 'x' boxes are the recommended category, but I have a very plain-jane zy1 copper canyon truck with a burgundy interior(which I figured was very common), but I don't see an 'x' to go with that combo. Does anyone else have stock paint/interior setups, and can compare theirs to one of these charts? Link here -- https://www.gm.com/heritage/archive/...formation-kits

Re: Need help interpreting this GM information kit
Your interpretation is correct.
Somebody got a truck built in a non-recommended color combination. It's not a big deal; you could just pick the boxes on the order form. Usually someone in sales at Chevy Central Office would get back with you to make sure that's what you wanted but, after confirming, they would have no problem building it. K

Re: Need help interpreting this GM information kit
I think the Mahogany looks the best. This maybe Gold though. I always got those 2 colors confused

The truck was formerly a ZY1 Canyon Copper with Custom-Deluxe trim, and a Burgundy interior. My goal is to rebuild it as a ZY3 Canyon Copper and Midnight Black combo, with Scottsdale trim, and Mahogany interior. Another question -- are there any good photos showing what the Custom-Deluxe, Scottsdale, and Silverado interiors looked like? I know there were differences in the seats, even within these trim levels, but I'm mostly curious about the door panels, dash pad, and instrument cluster differences. The photos in the GM information kits are very poor quality.

Re: Need help interpreting this GM information kit
Your best bet is to do a search for the old sales brochures. They are in color and either photos or artist's renderings.
Most of the differentiation in trim is in the seats, by virtue of cloth vs vinyl, rib patterns and textures. The doors and cluster and instrument panel are pretty common; that is - Custom Deluxe and Scottsdale are the same (black) and Silverado has the brushed aluminum applique. Silverado door trim also gets you the pull strap, inset around the door handle area and map pocket lower front, and carpet at the bottom of the door. Re: Need help interpreting this GM information kit
Where did you find that one? I used to have access to the sales brochures, along with the information kits, through the old GMheritagecenter website. But since they've revamped the website, I haven't known where to go to get the sales brochures anymore.

I just googled that one.
This is the site I was actually looking for: https://www.lov2xlr8.no/broch1.html K

Ackshuallly -
That brochure pic of the Scottsdale door is not correct. It should have the black applique like this:

Re: Need help interpreting this GM information kit
One other difference is that the Custom Deluxe and Scottsdale get the big horn button; Silverado gets the narrow horn button with the stainless trim.

Re: Need help interpreting this GM information kit
Thanks for the link! I'll bookmark that.
The Silverado had a brushed aluminum insert in the passenger-side dash. The Scottsdale had a chrome-rimmed black insert in the passenger-side dash. Am I correct that the Custom-Deluxe had no insert at all in the passenger-side dash? I can't find photos showing the C/D version of the dash pad. I assume that C/D got black plastic doorsills, and Silverado got metal chrome doorsills, but which way did Scottsdale go on that? The more I look into this, everything about the Scottsdale trim package is looking more appealing than the Silverado trim. It's a bit more muted and classic; without all the chintzy feel of the brushed aluminum bits. I already know I definitely prefer the non-V22 grille that the lower-trim-level trucks came with. It just looks better.

Re: Need help interpreting this GM information kit
Custom deluxe dash has the black insert, like Scottsdale.
Scottsdale door sill trim was black (you can see them in the door picture I posted). K

Dad and I would always order a Scottsdale, so that we could get manual windows, locks and the vinyl flooring. But that still allowed us to opt up on the exterior and get the B96 wheel opening moldings, B85 bright side trim and V22 uplevel grille. K

Re: Need help interpreting this GM information kit
Is that a factory-type seat? I've never seen one without the stitched 'ribs' in the seat.

It does, however, match the end product in the blue truck when I had it redone, back in the day. K
