Not sure but I’m thinking of putting threadlock (Not Red) on the bolt that holds the 3rd &4th shift lever in place on my M22. The bolt keeps loosening which keeps it from going into 3rd & 4th. It has a lock washer. Sound like a good idea?
Shifts perfectly with the bolt tight.

Shouldn’t be a problem, the nut on my Sons Muncie are locking nuts

Thanks, mine are bolts though not nuts I have a 72 Muncie large output shaft fine spline. I think I’ll use the green thread locker and new lock washers.

I did some low level road racing. The green penitrating Loctite worked really well on bolts I want to remove easily. Some of the bolts were often loose after a weekend but once I stated using green, I never had a problem.
Drilling the bolt head and using safety wire was also an option if I had a point to anchor from.

When I had my M-22 rebuilt I used the Muncie tapes information / parts from Paul at 5speeds.com . His billet shift dogs / hardened bushings and linkage clips really tighten up the action . The guy wrote the book on Muncie transmissions .
