Bad new ICM?

Hi all,

My truck died 6 months ago and I was too busy to fix it. turned out it was the Ignition Control Module. No fire, no fuel.

I replaced with with a GM original. now she is ROUGH! Hard to start. Idles rough. Backfires. Hesitates.

I put in fresh fuel. Same problem.

Bad ICM or should I look at something else?

Yes. I did put the thermal paste on the new ICM.

Thanks

Re: Bad new ICM?

Did you reset timing? Perhaps something changed there.

You mean your timing light broke? Any brand is fine I’m sure. I like the ones that can advance in degrees to check total timing.

I went through a hand full of modules inside the distributor. most are chinese junk with little or no heat sink.

Now i keep an extra in my glove box
